CPR / AED

CPR/AED Adult

Purpose: Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults.
Prerequisites: None
Length: Approximately 4 hour and 30 minutes

CPR Child and Infant

Purpose: Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in an emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in children and infants at the lay responder level.
Prerequisites: None.
Length: Approximately 4 hour and 30 minutes

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Purpose: To teach those with a duty to act (professional rescuers) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim of cardiac arrest.
Prerequisites: None
Length: Approximately 8 hours.

Lay Responders First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor

Purpose: To train instructor candidates to teach basic level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses for lay responders
Prerequisites:
          Minimum age of 16
          Possess a Fundamentals of Instructor Training certificate (Certificate 3007) issued within the last        year or a current National Health and Safety Instructor authorization (F5736 or Certificate 3005).
          Pass a precourse written exam with a score of 80 percent or higher on each component and                 successfully demonstrating competency in the skills evaluation in accordance with the established skills  standard
Length: Approximately 16 hours (based on 6 instructor candidates per instructor trainer).

Refunds and Cancellations

           American Red Cross reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration or inclement weather. Scheduled participants will be notified of cancellation via telephone two business days prior to the date of the class and may then ask to be rescheduled or receive a complete refund.

Classes for groups

            Groups of 10 or more can be trained at your worksite, school, community organization or other location.
