Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Receptionist:
Volunteers needed to greet guests with a warm smile and answer phones with a friendly voice. Volunteer as little as one hour or up to an eight hour shift, weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Committee Members:
Volunteer your skills by serving on one of the following committees:
Finance
This volunteer could oversee the preparation of the annual budget, financial statements, and the administration,collection, and disbursement of the financial resources of the Chapter. It shall advise the Board with respect to the making of significant financial decisions.
Service Delivery Committee
This volunteer could oversee the Chapter's delivery and provision of services.
Volunteer/Youth Services
Create strategies to recruit, retain, and recognize volunteers.
Health & Safety Services
Oversee and support services provided by the Health & Safety department. Volunteer needed to assist in preparing for class, delivery and other safety services, select your own hours. CPR/First Aid Instructors: Join the team of life saving instructors. Coordinate your availability with Red Cross schedule. Babysitter Training Instructor: Train students age 11 and up to be safe and reliable babysitters. Coordinate your availability with Red Cross schedule.
Financial Development
Creative ideas and skills welcome to assist chapter with fund-raising and special events. Fund-raising Volunteers are needed to help think of new and exciting ways of generating donations for programs and services!
Mailings
Volunteers needed to assist with mass mailings in the office.
Office Support
Volunteers needed to type CPR certificates and course records.
Newsletter Writing
Utilize your writing skills and help keep our volunteers and donors informed of all the exciting chapter activities and events. For those with computer skills, you may help in the updating of our web site!
Disaster Services
Disaster Action Team: Members respond to local emergencies, providing food, clothing, and shelter. Free training provided for various specialties.Safe on My Own / Disaster Dudes Instructors: Teach grade-school children how to be safe when home alone and the importance of being prepared for any type of disaster. Must be available during school hours. Free training provided through Emergency Services.
Armed Forces Emergency Services
Volunteer needed to interview, verify, and deliver emergency messages to military members and their families. Requires excellent phone skills. Currently looking for volunteer available during day hours. Free training required.
Buildings & Grounds maintenance
Volunteers needed to assist with the upkeep of the exterior of Red Cross chapter.
Blood Drive Truck Loaders
Volunteers needed to assist with the loading and unloading of supplies used at local blood drives.
